The Swedish Massage, and that is also identified as the classic or traditional massage could be the most common massage therapy technique and is normally preferred by the majority of people. Its characterized by lengthy and flowing strokes which relax muscles.
As with the meridians used in the acupuncture of Chinese medicine, prana is thought to flow in line of energy. As a practitioner performs the Thai yoga massage, he or she opens up any energy blockages that are in those lines. This type of treatment is referred to as yoga because it resembles assisted yoga more than it does what is typically thought of as massage. Stretching is a primary part of the therapy and the practitioner actually helps the client to get into the various poses. This stretching is one way that the energy blockages are opened up. |

In the private cabin that you will be assigned, you will have to remove your clothes and lie face down on a massage table. An assistant will drape a sheet over you, as much for warmth as for modesty. The part being massaged will be uncovered and when thats been massaged it will be covered up and the next portion will be uncovered. The masseuse will gently massage the body, using a massage oil, maybe, to help her fingers slide smoothly over the muscles. Aromatic oils may be mixed in with the massage oil for added aroma therapeutic effect.
